HMS BOUNTY with tugs 29th August (52 images)

A selection of images showing the arrival and berthing of the HMS BOUNTY which is visiting Hull for part of the Sea Shanty weekend.
She was escorted upriver by SMS Englishman,HT Cutlass,HT Sword and HT Scimitar.
I went to King George viewpoint for a few shots of her passing,the car park was absolutely chocker,couldnt get another car on,I only just got off as I was blocked in.
After she passed I headed up to Albert Dock and took up a good vantage point on the knuckle where she would have to spring round to approach the entrance to the dock,chance of some decent shots.
There I was snapping away when the Dockmaster called me on the VHF and asked me if I could see her into the lock as the assigned Boatage firm hadnt turned up,how could I refuse really?...not very often you get to tie a ship like this up,plus it got me the chance to appear on Look North,when I got in that night I caught a glimpse of the news and it showed the arrival of her been filmed from onboard and as the crew threw the heaving line for me to heave in the spring line I was caught on camera...my kids were shouting like mad,Dad your on the Tele with the Pirate Ship..haha,fame at last!...good job I Sky+ it,they keep watching the clip...bless em!
